CAFE SESSION WITH STEVE: MARCH 2022

Do you know what I’m excited about? It's not because it seems like we are finally through that vicious cycle of 70 degree weather but then also snow every 6 days. Sure, this past weekend was beautiful! But do you know how many times I've taken out my golf clubs to play a round in the last few weeks just to have it snow the next day?? Too many. I’m stoked because The Sherriff has decided to come to town...Russell Wilson is officially a Bronco!!! And I can't wait for this upcoming season to see what comes of the gauntlet built in the AFC West.

Okay, now to your questions:

HOW MUCH COFFEE IS SAFE TO DRINK IN A DAY?

If you’re asking this, you must be putting down a fairly serious amount of daily caffeine – I love it! I did a little research and here’s the "official" word.

According to ASAPScience, a lethal amount of caffeine is about 150 milligrams per kilogram of body weight. There are about 95mg of caffeine in a cup of coffee. So in essence, if you weigh 160lbs, you’d have to drink approx. 113 cups of coffee in a sigle day to kill you. Don’t get me wrong, I love coffee and all, but that’s a ridiculous amount of coffee to consume in a single day!

That said, I’d be remis if I didn’t also include the FDA’s official recommendation for the average adult coffee drinker is 400 milligrams, or between 4-5 cups of coffee per day.

FUN THINGS GOING ON IN DENVER (NOW THAT IT’S OFFICIALLY WARMING UP OUTSIDE)

It’s warming up and we are all coming out of our collective winter hibernation period. Most of you are looking for things to do – this is what I came up with:

  1. Rockies Home Opener – April 8th (I was obviously always going to start with this one).

    Get your tickets HERE

  2. Check out the Art Of Banksy Exhibit. It features over 100 pieces of original work and is the largest Banksy exhibit ever created – opening April 14th

    Get your tickets HERE

  3. If you’re into running, the “Hoppy Easter 5k” at Zuni Street Brewing could be something you’re into. Get a free beer when you finish the race – April 16th

    Info HERE

  4. Hit up Great Divide Brewery for a tour – offered year-round and daily at select times.

    Info HERE

  5. Partake in the Denver Beer Trail map – this isn’t an event so much as a map of top Denver Breweries Denver.org has put together. Still, a great way to spend a Saturday and try new beers!

    Info HERE

  6. Have a park day. It’s free, it's easy, it's fun and Denver has a TON of parks to choose from! My top park recommendations are Cheeseman Park, City Park and Confluence Park.

Okay folks, that’s all I’ve got for this session – come back next month and I’ll answer some more questions. Until then, get out of the house and into the world to do something fun!
